Play It Again Sports is a sports equipment store that specialized on used sports equipment. A dozen Golf Balls (Titleist, Callaway, etc.) in as new condition for 6.99. That is the reason i usually visit Play It Again Sports in Pacific Beach San Diego. That is an excellent value. I play at Tecolote Canyon Golf [...] Renting a boat can be a fun and relaxing thing to do. First you have to decide whether to rent a powerboat or a sailboat. In San Diego, Seaforth boat rental is the best place to go. I rented a small 100hp 16' powerboat some time ago. They charge about $65 per hour plus gasoline [...] This kind of bearing is not really suitable for pipe skating. For a streetskate such as a Fiberflex Longboard i have never experienced faster bearings. Pushing is easy and not much work needed to roll at a decent speed. Sometimes it seems that it rolls by itself. Almost scary, like a Perpetuum Mobile. Hit [...] This weekend i visited Mount Baldy for some snowboarding. Mount Baldy is located near Los Angeles. On sunday, it was the worst day since five years, Saturday was the best day in five years as i was told by an employee. Guess what, i went on Sunday. It was snowing, or, you could almost call [...] Shortly befor New Years Eve i went to Munich for a couple of days. It was lovely. Munich is a fantastic city for a weekend getaway, especially in the wintertime. My two favorites were the Nymphenburg, a historic castle / palace with art exhibitions and the historic city center with the Frauenkirche, the famous church [...] Christkindlesmaerkte or Weihnachtsmaerkte are the names Germans call their Christmas Markets. They are outstanding. Full of nice stands and booths that sell food, art, xmas accesories and decoration. The people meet their to drink a Gluehwein, a hot red wine with spices. They eat Bratwurst or bbq sausage in english. They have lots of sweets, [...] Silver Strand is one of the most beautiful sights in San Diego and. Only the drive there is amazing, if you arrive like I do from the North (I live in Pacific Beach) you will drive into San Diego. If you are lucky and it is a sunny day, you will see all the skyline [...] I am just preparing to leave for a while to Germany. I will fly via Zurich Switzerland. This is a wonderful airport. I can assure you, it will be really cold there. I like that. Christmas in a real winter, thats just what i need after this boring, never changing sunny climate here in San [...] Just came back from the Crystal Peer. It was quite windy out there, a lot of Kite Surfers. The Swell is getting larger. Today was ok, i might go again later today if i find the time. I will be leaving for Germany tomorrow morning and i still have a lot of administrative stuff that [...] Lomas Santa Fe Executive Golf Course is located in Solana Beach. It is the most beautiful executive golf course in San Diego County that i have seen so far. It is maintained very well, the greens are great. It is Par 3 with one hole beeing Par 4. It is almost never crowded, i would [...] I booked my flight, as usual few days prior departure. I was able to get the ticket for $600 return including taxes. That is 300 one way. Imagine what flights cost 10-15 years ago. The airline business is so competitive which makes traveling cheap nowadays. Even with sky high oil prices. One thing airlines do [...] Tecolote Canyon: A beautiful, quite challenging 18 hole executive golf course. Very narrow, with a few 250 yards plus holes. Be prepared to lose a couple of balls to the creek or the surrounding area. The late rate starts at 3 PM and costs a mere $12 for the 18 hole course that can easily [...] Today, i finally purchased a new surfboard. I went to Southcoast Surfshop in Pacific Beach. As usual i had fantastic service, exceptionally good experience. The board is a 5′10″ Xanadu “The Flasback“. I just came back from trying it out in the water. The conditions out there were not very good when i entered [...] Ocean beach is a little more hippy than PB. In PB you will find the young college crowd. Its a little more low-key in Ocean Beach. Ocean beach has many nice little places to eat, Hodad's is supposed to be one of the best burger joints in San Diego and i can agree to that. [...] Since a couple of days, i am looking around for a flight to Germany. I am located in San Diego. What i can not decide is whether i should take one 12 hour flight from LAX, or 2 short flights for example from San Diego to New York (or as far east as possible) to [...] I constantly travel. I just came back from New York. What a fantastic town. You can read a little more about my trip in my previous post. I very much liked the central park, the museum of art is great and the food was outstanding. Hotels in New York can be really expensive. When you [...] Today i decided to go out and purchase a new surfboard. The problem is that i can not decide what to buy. Al Merrick or a Surf Prescription i guess. Something between 5'9" and 6'1". A couple of surfboards are standing around here in my apartment (5'11" Doc, 6'4" Realm, 7'3" Ellington, 7'3" Surf-Club totally [...] I was told to start playing Golf over and over again. Finally, i listened. First thing i did was to try it out with a couple of borrowed clubs. I went to the driving range and it worked out relatively well. I went another couple of times and started to enjoy it more every time [...] |
