San Diego Restaurant BALI HAI

Price: 6/6 (Value) Food (based on price) 5/6 Service (based on price): 6/6 Selection: 4/6 Overall: 5/6 Today i visited the San Diego Restaurant Bali Hai located on beautiful Shelter Island in Point Loma San Diego. With fantastic views over downtown and Point Loma Harbor, it is ideal for a date or a casual business lunch. I went during the day. Lunch items are around $10 compared to about $20 for the dinner items. I went for the Teriyaki Plate which consists of marinated chicken breast and beef served with excellent vegetables and rice. My friend took the Furikake Salmon with the same sides. Both dishes were of good quality. I liked the fact that they seemed naturally prepared, i did not taste MSG (Monosodium glutamate, flavour enhancer) or too much salt. Both dishes were not heavy but filling. Service was great, very friendly waiters and an authentic bartender that serves something like 50 different kinds of rum if you care for a cocktail. Conclusion: The Bali Hai offers above average food at reasonable prices. $10 for the great tasting lunch plates and the fantastic service we had was very fair. I would go back another day. The views are almost unbeatable. I absolutely recommend this place.
